Using iPhone apps on the new iPad
Anyone who already owns an iPhone probably has quite a few apps installed. If you just own an new ipad, you’ll be happy to know that you can use the same apps you have installed on your iPhone on your new tablet. There’s no need to install each individual app from your iPhone to your iPad since you can sync all your apps appearing on your phone to your new iPad through using iTunes on your computer.
Method 1, sync apps on your phone to your new iPad using iTunes
Step1, Open iTunes on your computer. If you own an iPhone, chances are you already have an active iTunes account. If you don’t have iTunes, you can download the latest version free at the Apple website.
Step2, Connect the iPhone to your computer using the USB connector cable that came with the device. ITunes detects that the iPhone has been connected. The iPhone name appears under “Devices” in the left navigation column. Click on the name to open the syncing options and then click the sync button in the lower right corner. This backs up all your apps to iTunes. When the sync completes, detach the mobile device.
Step3, Connect the iPad to your computer using the USB connector cable that came with the device. The iPad’s name shows up under “Devices.” Click it and select the “Apps” tab at the top of the main iTunes screen. Uncheck any applications that you do not wish to sync to your iPad. Choose the items you wish to sync and click “Apply” in the lower right corner. Your iPhone apps transfer to the iPad.
Method 2, sync apps on your phone to your new iPad with iCloud
Firstly, you need to get the things prepared:
iPad iOS 5.0 or later
iPhone iOS 5.0 or later
WiFi or 3G connection
iTunes 10.3
Step1, Tap App Store from your Springboard and select the Updates tab. You will see a new tab area called Purchased. Tap on that tab. This will take you to the Purchased apps section. You will seen the below screen of all the apps you purchased.
The All section will show all of the apps you have purchased before. The Not on this iPhone section shows all the apps that are not currently installed on this iPhone.
Step2, To install an app, just click on the icloud sync How to sync apps via iCloud [iOS 5] icon. Once you click the icon, it will ask for your Apple ID and password.
Step3, Enter the Apple ID and password, and the app will download to your iPad.
With iCloud, all your purchased apps, music, camera photos will be backed up on a hourly basis, which means you don’t have to worry about backing up the that data yourself. When you download an app from say the App Store onto an iOS device, it will always be on Apple’s server for you to download again, even if you lose or damage your iOS device or Mac.
