How to Update Your Drivers for Free
Divers are software components that tell your operating system how to use various computer hardware devices. Devices such as video cards, sound cards, Ethernet adapters and wireless cards must have drivers installed to function properly. Computer hardware producers sometimes release new drivers to improve the functionality of the devices. Driver updates are typically provided by computer and computer hardware manufacturers for free.
Then, it is normal for us to update drivers, but how to update your drivers for free? Here are the step by step guide for you.
Step 1: Click the bottom left corner of your screen, start menu icon. No program is open, you do so. This will eliminate clutter, and make it easier to find what you need.
Step 2: Right click “My Computer” in your Start menu. Find the Hardware tab, click “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Select the type of item you want to find an updated driver. For example, if you select “Display Adapters”, it will expand and show all of your computer display adapters. If you check for updates on all your equipment, start at the top and work all the way down.
Step 4: Right-click the specific device to update your PC drivers. Select “Update Driver” from the pop-up menu. This will open the Hardware Update Wizard.
Step 5: Choose the button next to “Yes, this is just” let the wizard connect to the Internet, and update your device drivers search. Click “Next.”
Step 6: stay in the “Install the software automatically” setting selected (if not selected, select it to switch). Click “Next.” The wizard will now search for new drivers and install automatically if we find any. If your device is up to date, it will tell you it can not find a better driver for your device.
Step 7: Click “Finish.” Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each device on each extension option to update your PC on all the drivers.
If you still do not know how to update your drivers or you do not want to do it by yourself and just want to find some software which automatically detect and download the drivers you need for your computer, just click here. And if you need a free trial version, I do think the Driver Navigator is the best.
